laura vd2 Laura Volpicelli-Daley, PhD, Assistant Professor - Laura grew up in Albuquerque, NM. She studied Math and English Lit  in college. She earned her PhD in Neuroscience at Emory University in the lab of Allan Levey, MD, PhD. She performed a short postdoctoral fellowship in the biochemistry department at Emory in laboratory of Richard A. Kahn, PhD who discovered Arf small GTPases. Laura performed her postdoc in the Cell Biology Department at Yale University in the lab of Pietro De Camilli, MD, Howard Hughes Investigator. She received further training in Parkinson's Disease in the lab of Virginia Lee, MBA, PhD, Director of the Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research at the University of Pennsylvania. She loves Star Wars movies (only episodes IV, V and VII),  reading historical fiction, cooking (and eating!) good food.

, MSTP student.  Lindsay is from Detroit, Michigan. She is a huge Harry Potter fan and proud Ravenclaw; she has begun a never-ending quest to catch a pikachu in Birmingham (when not in lab of course).

. Jessica is from Knoxville, TN. She is a great cook and played bass drum in Birmingham Southern College's marching band.

 is an undergraduate Neuroscience  honors student, chemistry major and is pre-med. She's from Memphis, TN and is involved in many organizations on campus including Alpha Gamma Delta and the ChemistryScholars Program. She love Harry Potter, traveling and exploring Birmingham.
Aseel Dib
 is an undergraduate Neuroscience honors student, chemistry scholar, and is pre-med. She is an Arab-American with history growing up in both Montgomery , AL and Amman, Jordan. She enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, traveling, gardening and watching Disney movies. She brings us the best cherries and figs and other fruit from her backyard!

Nadia Anabtawi
is an undergraduate Neuroscience major in the Honors College. She is an Arab-American born and raised in Hoover, Alabama. She enjoys working with kids, watching psychological thrillers, trying new foods, and exploring all the unique places that Birmingham has to offer. 
Baraa Hijaz
is from Montgomery, Alabama. He is an undergraduate neuroscience major within the honors program at UAB and has a passion for all things neuroscience. He is research driven and expresses great interest in neurodegenerative related research. He is also part of two intramural soccer teams and enjoys spending his free time at the recreational center.
