Undergraduate Student

Short Bio:
Iyuana is a rising third year undergraduate student. She completed an Associates Degree in Animal Science at Lawson State Community College in the spring of 2019. She will continue her education at Alabama A&M University in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Bio-Health Sciences (ABHS).

Iyuana is an aspiring doctor in veterinary medicine (DVM).She has previous research experience involving the deletion of the mexE genein Pseudomonas putida responsible for trans membrane efflux pump activation,causing cellular protection from lead, heavy metals, and antibiotics. Her overallgoal is to become a veterinarian, and go on to positively impact the lives ofothers by healing animals.

Iyuana has joined our lab as part of the UAB CORD program and has been collaborating on the tumor surrogates in vivo imaging project.
