Short Bio:
Dr. Jason D. Whitt completed his Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the  University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL. His early research and thesis was focused on the development of NSAID derivatives for colorectal cancer treatment. Following this, he became a Postdoc in the Cancer Institute at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. During this time he worked on the identification of microenvironmental factors in osteosarcoma, common downstream targets and the underlying molecular mechanisms of tumor growth supportive miRNAs. His current work focuses on the evaluation of therapies for neuroendocrine (NE) cancers treatment. In particular, Dr. Whitt focuses on somatostatin receptors, antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) and notch regulating therapies as foundation for therapeutic options.
